Mail & Calendar app updated on Windows 10 Mobile with UI changes

Microsoft is now rolling out a new update to Outlook Mail & Calendar app on Windows 10 Mobile devices with UI changes. Windows Insiders on the Fast Ring have received the updated version 17.8400.40556.0. Microsoft hasn’t added any new feature with this update but it comes with some noticeable UI changes.

The update on Windows 10 Mobile brings Fluent design elements in the Mail app. The changes are minor but it does improve the overall interface. The search panel now has a dark grey shade, the similar change was recently introduced on the Windows Store.

Groove Music, Windows Maps, Calculator and almost all first-party apps have Fluent Design effect. Formerly known as Project Neon, Microsoft Fluent Design system is coming to Windows 10 with the Fall Creators Update.

The Fluent Design system is based on five key components: Light, Depth, Motion, Material, and Scale. It basically brings blurred translucency, parallax animated patterns and also the reveal effect when hovering with the mouse pointer.
